Brilliant by Night Neighborhood Direct Mail Card: Case Study

Client: Brilliant by Night Industry: Permanent holiday and architectural lighting installation Scope: Colorado neighborhood direct mail card

The challenge

Brilliant by Night needed a high-impact postcard for a single-market Colorado pilot. The supplied concepts were vertical and AI-generated, requiring adaptation to a horizontal USPS Every Door Direct Mail format. The design also needed localized contact information, precise brand alignment, realistic lighting effects, clear promotional copy, and a trackable QR code.

Our approach

We developed two front-side directions that balanced a prominent residential installation image with concise supporting content. Through structured revisions, we reduced the purple and magenta overlays, introduced a more realistic blue-toned lighting profile, moved the promotional message to a left-aligned layout, and refined background interactions to protect readability. When a standalone QR code was unavailable, we extracted and integrated the valid localized code from an existing flattened advertisement.

What we delivered

  • A horizontal postcard layout adapted for USPS EDDM specifications
  • Colorado-specific phone, landing page, and promotional copy
  • A location-specific, trackable QR code recovered from existing client artwork
  • Brand-consistent typography and restrained lighting gradients
  • Consolidated, print-ready source files for the Colorado pilot

The result

Brilliant by Night received a focused neighborhood mailer designed to complement the visibility of nearby installations. The final artwork translated the original concepts into practical direct mail collateral while meeting the client’s requirements for localization, readability, brand consistency, and tracking.
