Popadums Brand Identity & Packaging: Case Study

Client: Everred Foods (Popadums) Industry: Food & Beverage / Health & Wellness Snacks Scope: Brand identity and packaging system for four flavors and two bag sizes.

The challenge

Everred Foods needed a distinctive identity and packaging system for Popadums, its South Indian-style lentil crisps. The designs needed to balance vibrant, heritage-inspired patterns with a clear, uncluttered presentation, while accommodating flavor variations, two sizes, product information, and regulatory panel space.

Our approach

We explored geometric and heritage-inspired logo directions, refining the selected Rangoli- and Paisley-influenced concept through structural and color studies. For packaging, we developed a central-shield layout framed by flavor-specific Saree-inspired borders, with dedicated areas for product imagery, health callouts, and net weight. We also adapted the back panel and prepared bordered placeholders for nutrition and ingredient information while awaiting the official laboratory panels and final barcodes.

What we delivered

  • A versatile vector logo in primary formats and a standalone favicon.
  • A master packaging design and three flavor variations for Original, Tangy, Salt & Pepper, and Tandoori.
  • Four size variations across the two requested bag sizes, with dieline adaptations.
  • Back-panel layouts with brand story, founder’s note, dipping suggestion, manufacturer details, barcode space, and bordered Nutrition Facts and Ingredients placeholders.

The result

Everred Foods received a cohesive Popadums identity and a print-ready master dieline package structured for the four flavors and two sizes. Nutrition Facts and Ingredients remained placeholders pending official laboratory panels; final UPC barcodes were also still pending.
